Another big fish has come out of Winters this weekend, this time a 31lb common to Lewis Hudson, fishing with Nick Heap who landed a 24-5 common and Dean Barker taking a 26-5 and an 18lb using Mainline Cell. Damsel produced fish with Darren Peters catching a 19lb and a 21lb, John Reeves and Stewart Saunders also caught, each taking a 15lb fish. On Becks Lake Neil Sibley landed 2 to 13lb and a bonus late season 3lb tench. Jack Brown was delighted with his personal best – a nice common weighing in at 21lb. In the Autumn Series Open Paul Boltryk has built an unassailable lead by coming first for the 3rd week in a row with 81-8, second was Jack Shirley with 68-4 and third was John Patmore with 43-0. The story of the week has to be the new lake record on Booneys. Jase Hadwin and Chris Stevens had heard about Booneys and it holding a stock of original carp from when it was a nature reserve and decided to come down from Doncaster to fish it. They booked themselves in for a week and set to work. Jase fished a solid bag of maggots into the silt at 80yds with fake corn and fake maggots on the hook and was rewarded with 12 carp, 5 of which were over twenty pounds and one at 34lbs 12oz (pictured), a new lake record. He also caught a 9lb tench. Chris Stevens struggled to finds bites fishing with boilies at first, he moved pegs twice and switched to using solid bags of maggots which resulted in a 24lb common and a 13lb mirror. Both were delighted with their trip and said they would definitely be coming back. Nice fishing guys!
